Saxophonist Neil Welch's debut release, Narmada, features a host of Seattle-area musicians, as well as world-renown Sitar guru, Pandit Debi Prasad Chatterjee. Welch is profoundly influenced by traditional Hindustani music, elements of which are riddled throughout the album. The album is made up of mostly original tunes, as well as a beautiful arrangement of Radiohead's "Paranoid Android." Check out samples from the album in the media section of our website.
"Every time I get to my mail of a dozen or so CDs a day to open and slip into the player, I pray that there'll be a chestnut like Neil
Welch's Narmada awaiting my ears."
